Perhaps one of the warmest smiles around belongs to Steve Chader. An easygoing and very comfortable-to-talk-to individual, it is simple to see why Steve Chader is the Top Producer in Gilbert, Mesa and Chandler, and one of the Top Producers in the state of Arizona. He puts a person at ease from the moment he shakes their hand.
This native New Yorker (minus the accent) actually came to Arizona to pursue a college career in transportation. He decided that he needed to put in a year of working and gaining residency before enrolling at ASU. During that year, he was an assistant manager at an apartment complex, a job he deemed "less than glamorous." However, his boss gave him the idea that he should look into real estate as a career. Steve did just that and the rest (including the transportation career) was history.
Within his first three days, he sold a home, and during the next twenty years, he continued to succeed.
As with any successful Realtor, Steve markets himself effectively. Of course, he uses the typical strategies of newspaper advertising, magazines and flyers. However, most of his business comes from referrals. This speaks highly of anyone in sales. When asked about his awards. Steve simply shrugs. There are none on the walls and though there have been many, he is reticent to even talk about them. "I tend to look forward to the future and where I'm going, not where I've been."
A self-described workaholic, Steve still places a high priority on family. His face fills with pride when he talks about his two boys. His wife, a junior high school counselor, is also a source of pride for him as he speaks of her accomplishments with at-risk students.
Steve has served his community in a variety of ways. He served as a deacon at his church, has coached youth basketball and sponsored many Little League teams. He took perhaps the biggest step one can take to help their community when he became a city councilman. He can look around Gilbert and see the effects of his six years of effort in that position.
